Animal Lovers Go Too Far?

Animal Lovers Go Too Far?

People love their pets, no doubt.  Our animal companions are precious to us, like family members, and so we often go to great lengths to make them comfortable and at home.  There is some bickering in the eco-friendly community as to how responsible it may or may not be to host more than one pet.  Some people seem to be the equivalent of Prohibition ear teetotalers where pets are concerned, while others believe it is our responsibility to care for domesticated animals and to provide for their needs.  Who knows which position is more green or Earth friendly?  Of course, no one.  So today, we shall sally forth as though ownership of pets is good for the planet, rather than bad.

Pets bring happiness to humans through their loyalty and companionship, and we bring happiness to them in the form of delicious treats, expensive pet beds, and trips to the doggy salon.  Do American animal lovers take it too far, though?  I have friends in Virginia who take their two Shih-Tzus to an exclusive pet resort whenever they go on vacation — one that reminds me of the movie “Hotel for Dogs.”  What do you think about people’s treatment of their pets?  Too far, or just purrrrfect?  Check this out:
